Speed Up Windows Vista

A computer may become slow with he ages. It is quite normal that as we over load them with lots of files, games, software that is almost beyond its capacity it becomes slow. But many people do not know how to speed up their old PC. Here are a few tips to speed up computer that runs Windows Vista.

1) Delete useless programs from start up process – While starting up Windows Vista you may see many programs most of which are useless run either as background or as a pop up windows. Removing these programs to speed up Windows Vista. To do this you need to open the start menu then go to run and type ‘misconfig’. After that you need to choose the Start up tab and uncheck the items that you need not to auto-load and click OK.

2) Disable User Account Control (UAC) – Disabling UAC can also speed up Windows Vista. To turn off the UAC you have to open the control Panel and type ‘UAC’ into the field provided to type the search items. A search result will be shown saying “turn UAC on or off”. Then you have to follow the instruction to disable UAC.

3) Deactivate the graphic features – Disabling graphic features can also make Windows Vista faster. To do this you have to go to the Start menu and go to Run and then type ‘systempropertiesperformance’. Then you need to uncheck the box “ Animated Windows when minimizing and maximizing” on the Visual Effects tab.

4) Disable index service – To disable the index service you have to right click on the C drive in the Windows explorer. Then by clicking on the ‘General’ tab uncheck the ‘Index this Drive for Faster Searching’.

5) Disable the side bar – To disable side bar you need to right click on the Windows side bar option that can be found in the system tray located at the right corner of the monitor. Select the option to deactivate.

These are some simple tips which you may follow to speed up your computer.
